LANCIA FLAMINIA CONVERTIBILE 2.5 3C
Great design by Touring - totally restored, frame off, engine, gearbox
Lancia Flaminia Convertible 2.5 3C – An Italian Gran Turismo of Timeless Elegance
With the Flaminia, Lancia introduced its new flagship model at the end of the 1950s, setting a clear benchmark for technical sophistication, cultivated performance and understated luxury. The Flaminia embodied the brand’s ambition to combine advanced automotive engineering with refined elegance – qualities that quickly made it the preferred choice of a discerning international clientele.
The Flaminia Convertible, designed and built by Carrozzeria Touring using the classic Superleggera construction method, represents the most open and at the same time the most exclusive interpretation of the model range. With its balanced lines, harmonious proportions and finely detailed interior, the Touring convertible is regarded as one of the most elegant open Gran Turismo cars of the early 1960s.
Particularly sought after are the 3C versions of the Flaminia, equipped with three Weber carburettors, which give the V6 engine a noticeably more sporting character. Of the version offered here – the Flaminia Convertible 2.5 3C – only 264 examples were built, a level of rarity that today makes this model a highly prized collector’s item among connoisseurs and enthusiasts.
Like many great Italian luxury automobiles of its era, the Lancia Flaminia was favoured by prominent personalities from politics, business, culture and film. Its discreet elegance combined with technical finesse made it the ideal automobile for those who valued understatement over overt sportiness.
The car offered
This Lancia Flaminia Convertible 2.5 3C is presented today in an exceptionally authentic and technically excellent condition. The car has undergone a no-compromise bare-metal “nut-and-bolt” frame-off restoration by Scuderia Azzurra and is now presented in true concours condition.
It is a matching-numbers car with matching colours, finished in the original exterior colour “Lancia Blu”, combined with a leather interior in the colour “Senape”. Originality and factory specification are clearly confirmed by the FIAT Archivo e Centro Storico – Certificato di Origine.
A particular highlight is the very rare original Touring hardtop, which further enhances the exclusivity of the car and gives the convertible the appearance of an exceptionally elegant Gran Turismo.
Engine and gearbox were completely overhauled as part of the restoration; approximately 1,700 kilometres have been covered since the general overhaul. The car is ready for the road, carries German registration, and has already been successfully presented at renowned events, including participation in the Concours d’Élégance Schloss Dyck “Jewels in the Park”.
The car is accompanied by ASI documentation including the ASI Gold Plate. The vehicle’s history is documented. The sale is conducted on behalf of a client. Viewing is possible by appointment in Cologne.
