This 1961 Maserati 3500 GT was ordered new on May 26, 1961, by sailing hall-of-famer James Schoonmaker, to whom it was delivered on July 4 of the same year in Miami Beach, Florida.

In 2021 Scuderia Azzurra started a two-year refurbishment that included a repaint in “Azzurro Vincennes”, a re-trim of the interior in “tan” leather, and an overhaul of the 3,485cc DOHC inline-six.

Modifications added during the project include air conditioning, power steering, an electric cooling fan, a battery shut-off switch, a Bluetooth-compatible radio, and shoulder belts.

Finished in December 2023 the car was sold in Juli 2024 on BaT for the highest ever bit (Maserati 3500)

‘And on a day that’s good and warm I want the keys to the Maserati.’
